Cynefin
Cynefin supports sense-making by matching the response to the nature of the situation.
In a clear context, cause and effect are evident and established practice may be appropriate. Complicated contexts require expertise and analysis because several valid answers may exist. Complex contexts reveal cause and effect only in retrospect, so safe-to-fail probes and observation are more useful than prediction. Chaotic contexts require stabilising action before analysis. Confusion signals that the context has not yet been distinguished.
The framework helps experiment designers avoid applying one decision style everywhere. A run declares its working context and can test how the result changes when that framing changes. This makes disagreement inspectable: readers can examine the scenario, seed, events and interpretation rather than seeing only a final score.
Cynefin does not automate operational authority here. It is a lens for synthetic inquiry. Proposed learning is reviewed, scoped and promoted separately before it can become accepted programme knowledge.
